Primarily composed of granite which sat on the Palaeozoic and Mesozoic sedimentary belt of rocks during the late Jurassic, forming at 157 to 170 million years ago.
When you hold a piece of Yaogangxian specimen in your hand you're actually holding a piece of history that is as old as the dinosaurs and many even older.
Yaogangxian mine is the oldest tungsten mine in China which began in 1904, since then more than 308 minerals have been discovered, including new minerals for the first time ever.
Originally miners used to be farmers who made a living mining wolframite. Wolframite is highly valued as it is the main source of tungsten which can be used for armour piercing ammunition.
A crystal collector doesn't have fluorite unless they have a piece of Yaogangxian fluorite.
